MailChimp Exports
You can send the data from the people search results directly to a list in your MailChimp account. This will allow you to make things like mailing lists right out of your People Search reports.
Sandstorm has its own Email Automation tool called Sandstorm Campaigns, get started here.
1. Connect to your MailChimp account
After signing in to your MailChimp account, your Sandstorm Product will now be connected to your MailChimp account.
2. Save and Run a people search
Once you have authorized Sandstorm to have access to your MailChimp account, you can access the export from the People Search. Please run the report and then select MailChimp from the export options list:
3. Export to MailChimp
The export integration will take any identity from the People Search Results and send it to MailChimp as a member of list.
📘There are 4 options when exporting people to MailChimp:
Adding Identities as a new subscribers to a list
Unsubscribing Identities from a list
Adding Identities that are existing subscribers to a new static segment
Adding Identities that are existing subscribers to an existing segment
When exporting a people search, you can also send information from the columns in a people search to MailChimp as values for fields. Make sure to add columns to your search before you export if you would like to add this information.
Troubleshooting
General
You must use a valid email address to identify people in Sandstorm in order for this integration to work.
Merge Fields
The Integration connects a single Sandstorm product to a MailChimp account. If you want to export to MailChimp from multiple Sandstorm products, please authorize MailChimp in each individual product.
In order to send column information to MailChimp fields, the field must already be created in your list. If you do not see options other than ‘First Name’ or ‘Last Name’ please add the field to your MailChimp list before exporting.
When sending over timestamps, please configure the field in MailChimp to be text, NOT timestamp. The Kissmetrics timestamp is not the same format as MailChimp
No need to add email address property as a column, we are already getting the email address from the Identity in Kissmetrics.
